ACCEPTED + NOTE

WELCOME

Your application has been approved, with the following note:
↠ Our rules require characters to be physically and mentally 16 or older to be appable. Haku's age is ambiguous, and we're willing to consider him appable, but we think that given that ambiguity and the emphasis on his small stature, having him be perceived as 16 by others in the game would be more reasonable if he were rifted in as an elf. (We currently don't allow rifted elves, but since we're requesting the change in this case we'll obviously make an exception. He would still count toward the per-player cap on elves.) We also need you to be sure that you don't write him in a way that invites or encourages others to perceive him as being under 16 years old, as that would violate the rules. Let us know if you foresee that being a problem or if rifting him in as an elf isn't an acceptable solution, so that we can discuss other options.

↠ Like other once-immortal rifters, he will be required to sleep and eat, if he did not do so previously, and will be vulnerable to the Blight and generally capable of being killed.

↠ His magical abilities will have line-of-sight and range limitations similar to native mages: if something is too far away from him or travels too far away from him while he's enchanting it in some way, he won't be able to sustain the effect.

↠ His ability to transmute objects will be limited to objects the size of a bed or smaller, and the larger or more complex it is the shorter the amount of time he will be able to maintain the transmutation. We assume "objects" does not include living things.

↠ His ability to force people not to notice something will be limited to the same size and won't be foolproof—it can discourage noticing someone/something that would be easy to overlook, such as a person in a crowd who isn't drawing attention to themselves, but not allow people to walk directly past alert guards and so on.

↠ His humanoid/elvenoid form will be his "default" in Thedas, so if he's silenced by a Templar or otherwise in a position where magic won't work, he'll be forced into that form if he isn't already in it. He also won't be able to shift into a dragon indefinitely--his limits for how often he can switch in and out of that form and how long he can remain in it are roughly the same as for a native mages with the shapeshifting specialization. And as a general note, native Thedosians are (obviously) terrified of dragons and of demons, which he might be perceived as given he doesn't look much like native dragons, so using that form around witnesses will draw attention and would likely result in him being attacked. Please make sure you're taking the potential for negative consequences into account in advance when you decide whether to use it.
