↠ We agree with your proposed nerfs, and he can retain his various blood abilities with the caveat that using blood-based abilities in front of people who are not on board with blood magic (which is nearly everyone) could result in severe IC consequences from both the local civilians and the Inquistion. It could also result in severe IC consequences to the Inquisition if it's seen as endorsing or sheltering blood magic. If you plan to have him use those abilities in an obvious way in front of a crowd, please let us know so we can provide info about those consequences and the NPC reaction.

↠ As for his blood poisoning vampires, if you'd like to adapt it to Thedas, our recommendation is that his blood/life force be harmful when used in spells designed to bolster the health or energy of the caster—there are several spells in Thedas, both blood magic and not, that leech life or energy from a target, and in his case that could cause the caster to lose energy and health instead.
