Rey/ Star Wars - Canon Update (Spoilers for The Last Jedi)

Character: Rey
New Canon Point: end of The Last Jedi
Synopsis: canon link here

* Rey finds Luke on Ahch-to, he sucks. she follows him a lot and eventually starts seeing weird visions of Kylo Ren.
* Luke eventually decides he's going to show Rey why the Jedi suck
* Meanwhile Rey is having weird angry conversations with Kylo Ren in which he's also shirtless and sexually confusing to her. He tells her to ask Luke the truth about why he turned to the dark side. Luke gives her a story that omits a lot. Kylo tells her the story from his perspective.
* She decides after a bad training session with Luke in which she pretty much doesn't resist the darkness calling her at all and he freaks out to go RIGHT TO THE SPOT WHERE THE DARKNESS WAS CALLING HER TO. She faces her greatest fear there, which is that she is ultimately and completely alone in the universe.
* She then promptly forcetimes her internet boyfriend Kylo Ren and talks to him about it, and then they touch hands through the Force. Luke walks in just as this is happening and freaks out.
* Rey chases Luke down and forces him to tell her the real truth about what happened to Kylo Ren. Then she offers his lightsaber to him a final time, which he refuses so she leaves to try and get Kylo Ren to stop being a bad guy.
* It backfires, Kylo Ren takes her to his Master while she tries to convince him that he's a good guy.
* His master tortures her, which is apparently too much for him and he kills his master to save Rey.
* He then offers for her to rule the galaxy by his side, calls her "nothing" and is basically really bad at talking to girls.
* Rey doesn't want to be an empress, tries to get her lightsaber away from him, and in the resulting struggle they break her lightsaber in half. (but she never technically says no)
* Rey escapes the First Order ship and goes down to help the Resistance kick some First Order butt.
* She has her first Big Jedi Moment by floating a bunch of rocks to save the Resistance from their emergency exit away from the First Order while Luke buys them time to escape, having finally realized what a douche he was.
* Rey sees Kylo Ren one final time as she's ushering people aboard her ship, and then closes the door on him. She ends their connection abruptly there, though it is not broken.

Key Character Developments: While Rey's skill level likely won't be much effected since she was training with Obi-Wan longer in Fade Rift than she was with Luke in her own world, she does have some changes. Specifically would be the Force Bond forged with Kylo Ren, which means that erratically they show up to each other psychically, and are able to physically interact with one-another within the Force Bond, but not harm one-another. With practice they may be able to control it and call on the Bond at-will, but it's a new skill and thus unpredictable. They are also able to sense one-another's emotions, as well as feel physical pain the other is experiencing, though this is less extreme the farther they are from one-another. Rey is currently shielding this connection, after the falling out between her and him, but it does still exist.

Personality-wise, she'll be more conflicted than before, with the truth of her origin being thrust upon her and not being able to turn Kylo Ren like she'd hoped she could. She's also dealing with a lot of disillusionment in the great legend Luke Skywalker not exactly being what he was trumped up to be. She will be more resolved to do what she can for the Inquisition, possibly taking a more active role in missions when she hasn't before, because she feels like she needs to put in more of an effort to be a part of things, rather than just cleaning up messes around the Gallows.
