Absolutely! I think she'd think it was quite a politically sound move. Mages in particular are a divisive group in Thedas and I think that's something that would be quick to pick up on from the outset, even as a rifter. Sansa is used to having some measure of power solely because of her name and without that leverage, she'd feel a bit lost.
Once she realized the political climate of Thedas sort of hinges on the mage question, in a way, I think she'd side with them similar to the way she accepted Wildling help in taking back Winterfell - it's unconventional, yes, but something that ultimately put her into the game and kept her alive. I feel that Sansa would think siding with the mages would ultimately be more beneficial than siding against them and she's the sort to utilize what tools she can to keep ahead of the game.
This is an arc I see as playing out over a long period of time and not something I would see being an instant decision for Sansa. I hope that clarifies things.
