REVISIONS

REVISIONS

Before we can approve your application, we need to request a few changes!
↠ As a mage, highly skilled alchemist, researcher and mixer of poisons, as well as crime solver and spirit medium, Sherlock is skilled at a few too many things when balanced against the rest of the game's population. Although we appreciate that Sherlock's intelligence and dedication render him unusually competent, we would prefer he be more balanced.

Specifically, we would recommend that you revise the application so that Sherlock is no longer a mage. Most of his "othering" in canon is based on his personality and intellectual traits rather than anything about his race/class/social status, so we don't think it's necessary to have him be a mage for that reason, particularly in addition to having him be elf-blooded. You state that his primary skills are non-magical and note that he is not reliant on magic, and having him be unpowered would be more consistent with his canon reliance purely on his intellect. Removing his mage status from the application and focusing on his skills as an alchemist, researcher, and detective would alleviate our concerns about balance.

↠ While Sherlock is welcome to be fascinated by and researching the Taint, we are not eager to have characters single-handedly create cures or fast solutions to significant game mechanics/plot elements. Please tell us a bit more about what you're proposing he knows about the Taint and your plans for that knowledge/plot element going forward. (If you need to add a separate note not subject to our word limits to do this, that's fine.)
Please respond within 48 hours to let us know your application has been updated. (You may request an extension if necessary.) If you have any questions, let us know.
