The bottom line effect of the mechanic that brings Rifters to Thedas is that they must be made of the same "stuff" as native humans/elves/etc., even if that stuff takes a slightly different shape or has some unique abilities. In line with what we've required of other characters in the past, Lancer cannot continue to be a spirit, and will have the following limits on his abilities:
↠ His abilities will only be able to act on things/people within his line of sight.
↠ He'll be subject to mana exhaustion like native mages. He will also need to eat and sleep like a normal mortal, and while he can be stronger and faster and more durable, this will be more within the realm of what is possible for very well-trained humans.
↠ He will understand all rifters, and natives speaking Common, but will not be able to understand other languages in Thedas such as Orlesian, Antivan, without normal study.
↠ He will not be immune to magic and will not have any supernatural ability to block arrows or projectiles.
↠ His immunity to disease will not include immunity to the Blight.
↠ He will not be able to completely dematerialize/have a Servant form as you describe. He may travel short distances by way of the Fade, like native mages using Fade Step, and he may have the ability to go temporarily invisible, but this will be for short periods and he'll always be solid.
↠ His bursts of speed will be limited to two seconds and short distances, similar to the Fade Step ability in Dragon Age canon -- enough to rush a nearby enemy in a blink, not enough to travel significant distances.
↠ Likewise, he will not be able to summon his spear at will. He can arrive with a solid spear that looks like the one he is used to. This spear will not be guaranteed to hit a target, nor will it automatically kill anyone it hits, but it can inflict wounds that can only be healed by spirit healers.
↠ Lancer can use his rune ability to create fires and to give himself or others increased resistance (but not complete immunity) to magical attacks. He may also use the runes to alter memories of short periods of time, up to one minute, but you must have player permission for this. Any other rune-based abilities will not work.
↠ Please note that the changes to his physical appearance you describe in the section pertaining to warp spasm are likely to be interpreted as demonic possession in Thedas and responded to poorly. This may include IC consequences such as being locked up or even potentially killed. Please make sure to keep this in mind when deciding whether to use it.
As a general note, while Fade Rift is based on a video game, it is not a combat-focused game, and we try to write fight scenes in a "non-video-gamey" way. Attacks that have names or set animations in Lancer's canon should be written about more flexibly in the game. Additionally, our purpose in nerfing rifters like Lancer is to balance them against native characters so that everyone can contribute and participate. The majority of our plots involve group missions, and we don't want situations where one character easily individually solves problems or wipes out enemy forces while everyone else plays support roles. So if we have missed something in Lancer's skillset that would allow him to run (metaphorical) circles around other player characters, or if there are any abilities you later realize you didn't include in your app, please contact us so we can discuss further limitations.
