Martel's canon magic is astronomically more powerful than that of native Dragon Age mages. Because of this, his significant non-magical abilities, and because his magic is so tied to the world he comes from rather than something innate from birth, travel through the Fade will change and limit some of his abilities.

↠ He'll be subject to the same line-of-sight limits as native mages, meaning he can only work magic on things(/people/etc.) that he can see.

↠ He will not have the connection to this world that he did to his own, meaning he cannot sense minds or read them.

↠ He will find all spells more physically taxing than they used to be, but some will be substantially so, even when accounting for the absence of a patron god. If he cares to do some research, he will discover that they are things native mages cannot do, like fly, or learn a language in an afternoon, or control the perception of others, or make himself invisible. He will still be capable of doing these things, but they will be at least four times as draining as they were at home, while normal spells that are roughly equivalent to things natives can do will be only twice as taxing than they were at home. We say "roughly equivalent" because we don't expect you to apply this strictly following the skill trees from the games, it's more about the general types of magic that are commonly possible in Dragon Age.

↠ He will not be able to teach magic to others.

This wasn't quite a revision since we're not asking you to resubmit anything, so we'll make it a question: do these limitations make sense and work for you?
