ENTERING A RIFT

If someone got a ladder or jumped into the air or otherwise tried to stick a limb and/or their whole body into a Rift, what would happen?

Would the results be any different if they had an anchor shard?

If they were a Rifter?

Relatedly: Is it okay to use small Rift closures in unimportant locations for solo logs, or would you prefer these be group affairs?
