Mages mostly deserted Kirkwall following the rebellion, since there were rumors of an Exalted March credible enough to make Hawke leave and so on. But some have wandered back in the years since, in particular those who have family in the area, and others—especially those who disappeared into Darktown and/or criminal enterprises—never left in the first place. So one way or another, those here are mainly keeping their heads down: either they're trying to live quiet lives with their families and wouldn't want to be outed, or they're underground and wouldn't want attention from the establishment at all. But they are possible to find and wouldn't all be unwilling to speak to someone, as long as it was done quietly.
