Amico/Amica - 1) True friends, ones you are bound to by the deepest bonds of brotherhood. 2) A casual greeting among business partners. 3) An expected greeting for one's inlaws.

Socio/Socia - 1) Work friends, business partners, casual associates. 2) Someone you call friend to keep them from making a scene but don't actually care for. 3) The actual greeting for one's employer or inlaws.

Bacio/Bacia - 1) Kissing friends, Ones you are casually intimate with without romantic intent. 2) Someone you like but only kiss when you are drunk. 3) A drinking friend.

Becio/Becia - 1) A drinking friend, no kissing on the table. 2) A friend that you only keep around because they have good wine.

Gircio/Gricia - 1) Teasing friends, flirtatious friends without the kissing. 2) A friend with which you might want to start a romance.
