Baptism ( Antiva )

A Religious ceremony most often performed for infants at roughly nine months of age, wherein there is an oath sworn by the parents to raise the child in accordance with the Chantry's teachings, witnessed by a Madrina or Padrino, a woman or man that is close to the parents to ensure the child is raised among the faithful should anything happen to them. More elaborate ceremonies are held among the nobility, commoners tend to have monthly ceremonies for all children of age.

The swaddling cloth used when the infant was born is burned in a brazier and sprinkled with incense, this will be used in the actual anointing.

A recitation of the Canticle of Benedictions is sung as oil and ash is used to anoint the infant's brow with the sunburst symbol of the Chantry. They are held over a brazier of incense and another prayer offered to the Maker (optional), and afterward? There is wine, music, and drinking to celebrate the family and new child's life as one of the Maker's flock. Little stuffed sheep are often given as a gift, relatives or fellow members of the local Chantry's congregation bring food and wine, and it is traditional to give the infant a coin- either real (noble) or of a pressed mint sweet (common).
