Hello! We don't generally make people pay for items via AC rewards outside of what's listed, so no need to buy it, but we do appreciate that you asked about the ship, since it's a big deal.

Our concern is less the ship itself and more the NPCs associated with it. We've been trying very hard to curb the proliferation of large groups of player-controlled NPCs, such as characters having entire mercenary companies or assassin guilds under their personal control, or large numbers of NPC helpers filling out projects. A big part of the reason we moved the game from Skyhold to Kirkwall was to eliminate the large number of NPCs who had to be taken into account when scaling plots, explaining why relatively inexperienced PCs would be given leadership roles or sent to do things that a contingent of trained soldiers/sailors/whatever could have done better, and figure out what the general "mood" or reaction is to IC news or politics. While we understand you guys wanting to have ships so that your pirate characters can do some piratey things, the large crews that necessarily come with those ships are still a problem.

What we'd propose is that, due to political pressures from potential allies who don't like the look of the Inquisition openly harboring a fleet of known pirate ships and promoting an influx of pirates into Kirkwall, the Walrus, Revenge and any other pirate crews recruited in the future be based not out of Kirkwall but out of Brandel's Reach (a common hideout for raiders) or somewhere on the northern coast of Ferelden across the Waking Sea--or wherever, but basically near enough to be used for plots when it's helpful, but far enough for plausible deniability. This will keep those NPCs out of the way most of the time and more separate from the PC population, but still let you guys have your ships to use in the Inquisition's service when needed. We know this isn't a perfect solution--from our perspective either--but it's the best we've been able to come up with.

If this works for you (we'll be talking to Abby about it also, so no need to answer for her, obviously) then you can get the Revenge back, though we suggest you do it through a player plot if possible rather than it just randomly showing up one day.
