Roster
ROSTER
Is there someone from your character's life you'd like to see become a PC? Do you have an idea for a type of character you'd like to see in-game and wish someone would play? Fill out the form below and submit them here to place those characters on the game roster. Think of it like a Wanted list designed specifically for OCs and native AUs.
We've made two forms: one for the specific characters, like your PC's brother, their mentor, their childhood nemesis, i.e. specific individuals who have specific ties to at least one PC. The other form is for character concepts: ideas for types of characters rather than specific individuals. This should be used for general ideas you'd like to see someone play that don't necessarily come with built-in links to PCs, like "a Warden who slit throats at Adamant" or "an aging tourney knight who's come to the Inquisition for a last stab at glory."
Posting
It's not necessary to fill in all of the fields -- in fact if the specifics aren't important then we encourage you to leave them blank; most players prefer to come up with their own character's name, for instance, so unless you've referred to a specific name so many times in-game that retconning it now would be difficult, it's probably best to allow some freedom there. General answers are also fine, like age ranges or suggesting several possible nationalities. You'll note that we didn't include a place to specify a PB. This is intentional, because we don't want to create or encourage situations in which players feel like they can't use a PB for a PC they're apping because another player has already "claimed" that actor for an unplayed character.
You can use this page to request canon characters or castmates as well, whether they would be native AUs or rifters—but please only post requests for characters you specifically want or have specific ideas for. It's implied that most canon characters would love any castmate at all, so there's no need to list everyone in your canon here. If you submit more than one or two requests for specific castmates we may ask you to pick the most important. Please also be aware that we won't require someone who apps a native AU of a canon character to adhere to an AU version/history proposed on this page if they have their own ideas.
Comments are screened so that we can review submissions before they're posted to make sure the general concepts are ones we'd allow in-game, and also to prevent duplicates or allow us to ask clarifying questions of the posting player, if necessary. Note that while we encourage players interested in picking up a specific character to speak with the player who made the post, we don't require it, and sign-off from the posting player isn't necessary for an app to be approved.
Claiming
Claiming characters or concepts off the roster will be first-apped, first-served, and we'll remove the posts once an app has been approved. Please note that the fact that a post has been allowed on the roster doesn't guarantee that we will approve an app submitted for it! You'll still have to go through the normal app review process.
Specific Characters
While it's not strictly required, we strongly encourage players interested in claiming a specific character off the roster to speak with the posting player whose contact information is listed in the form before apping. It's likely that the player has additional information/ideas and can help flesh out the character's history and relationships with PCs.
For specific OCs claimed from this list, during the app review process we will be checking to make sure that the essential elements of the character listed in the roster form are matched in the app. If, for instance, the form describes a PC's sister as being 35, constantly stubborn and grouchy, but your app for the sister claims that she's 22, a constant ray of sunshine and a total pushover, revisions may be necessary. This is to ensure fairness to current players, so they don't have to suddenly contend with their PC being closely linked to a character who is nothing like they envisioned and whose relationship to theirs and place in their PC's background no longer makes sense.
Note that this is not the case for character concepts. Because those are just general ideas, apping players can adapt them as desired. Additionally, if you would like to app a native AU version of a canon character that doesn't line up with an AU idea someone else has proposed here, that's fine!

Concept: Skadi's twin sister. She's a mage with a 'teacher'; aka, a spirit of Fortitude. Broadly-speaking, she's much less of a blood knight than Skadi herself, but has a spine of steel nonetheless. Despite their differences, they generally get along and have each other's backs.
Ties to PCs: She's Skadi's sister and Skadi would be very protective of her, given that she an apostate and one that would be seen as an abomination to the Chantry.

Concept: Sword and shield fighter who joined the same caravan guard Adalia did, leading them both on their shitty adventure. Mostly pleasant, sort of bossy, everything else is up to you!
Ties to PCs: Just Adalia! He taught her the basics of being a melee fighter and is the only one who knows she's sold her soul twice over. She has perceived him as being friendly toward her.

Nationality: Fereldan
Concept: Human ambassador from Orlais slept with elven servant in Denerim, producing twins Vax and Vex. At 11 their father took them to Orlais to """save them""" from the alienage; it was shit and so was he. At 14 the twins ran away to go back to their mother in Denerim only to find it ravaged by the Fifth Blight and their mother dead. Twins have been on their own ever since.

Concept: The skeptical daughter of the sternly Andrastian alienage hahren, who loves art and architecture and yearns for a better education than the very basic one she has been afforded. Wary of children, because in her experience, as soon as you get attached to them, they just turn into mages and get yanked away.

Concept: Templar at the Ostwick Circle. Generally a good dude with sympathy for mages, was lowkey passionate about mages having more freedom. Hasn't really been heard from since everyone left Ostwick, is either with a faction of Templars somewhere or has been under the influence of blood magic and being used as a blood mage meat shield ever since.
Ties to PCs: Formerly romantically involved with Audra, though given that would've been almost three years ago and Stuff Has Happened it may be Weird.

Concept: A young man of noble upbringing, was the adopted son of the Penrose household of Starkhaven before renouncing his name and leaving his family after the death of his mother.

Nationality: Nevarran, but lately from Hasmal
Concept: Fierce-as-hell momma bear knight-enchanter who appeared to be a perfect Loyalist but was actually training her students on the side that they might, someday, need to fight against rather than with templars. A few months after Hasmal Circle fell, she packed up all her healthy apprentices who hadn't rebelled and took off for parts unknown.
Ties to PCs: She was Myr's knight-enchanter trainer back in Hasmal Circle. Vandelin and Casimir would've been familiar with her and her unorthodox training methods if not her unusual political opinions.

Concept: Paladin with an Oath of Devotion/Crown! Fun boy with a heart of gold, a bit of a gambling problem but nothing too serious. Very good at what he does and determined to do what he can to help people, especially the most helpless. Technically dead, but canon point can be before then.
Ties to PCs: Six - his student and his almost lover. They never kissed, but they admitted feelings and decided to wait until she was done with her training.

Concept: A young hunter living on the road with their father. Born just before the Blight, escaped from Lothering, grew up on a farm in Oswin. Their mother died when they were 7. When they were 10, they became a traveling hunter alongside their father, mostly in the Hinterlands. Joins the Inquisition (unwillingly?) when they receive an anchor shard, and their father goes with them.

Concept: Did you know that elves can be templars? Dwarves too! It's very rare, but it's not outlawed, which is neat when you look at how contentious armed elves generally are. Elves and dwarves can definitely be templars. Evangeline was originally going to be an elf. Please write me an elven or dwarven templar. I've been very good this year.

Concept: Chantry-sanctioned blood mage, who's main duty before the circles fell was the surprisingly boring and clerical job of creating, maintaining, and managing the archives of phylactaries. Should fall somewhere between the special kind of Lawful Evil that doesn't care who suffers so long as the Dewy Decimal Gods are satiated and "Chaotic Fussy" on the morality cross-section. Longs for the good old days when everything lines up nicely and we lived in tidy places and everyone got harrowed on time and the accounting was all in order.
Special Move: has a hidden stash of "rescued" phylacteries stowed away somewhere on the arguments that "It's for posterity" and "These are historical phylacteries!" and of course the ever-popular "But these are LITERALLY irreplaceable!"
