About:

• Lifelong thief, started small in the alienage before moving on to bigger targets in Rialto proper.
• On a botched mission, had to lay low for a while and shacked up with some Dalish elves. Pretended to be swayed by the Dalish lifestyle, even got married and tattooed. Left the clan a year later, bored out of her mind and running from commitment.
• But pretends to be Dalish sometimes to get her out of trouble / sell her skills as more exotic / expensive.
• Another job goes sour. That'll happen if you have enough jobs. It definitely doesn't have to do with her own flagging enthusiasm for The Trade. (But how do you stop when you've built your whole identity around it? And you have... no other skills...)
• Saved from the gallows by a warden. Happy to do whatever it takes to not be dead.
• She travels further south with the warden training her.
• The Warden dies in a scuffle on the road (with, ironically, bandits), and Syveth is left an untrained warden. Decides to hunker down in Riftwatch for three square daily; if things turn out to be a good longterm strategy, why not stick around? Beats the hell out of stealing.
