Plot Reports

PLOT REPORTS

If you run a player plot, participate in a war table mission, or do something unplanned/unofficial that you feel may have wider implications for the game world, please use this page to submit an OOC report! Your report doesn't need to be lengthy or overly detailed but should include the basic premise ("A and B hunt down C"), state the outcome ("C is caught and placed in Inquisition custody"), and explain anything significant that is handwaved rather than played out if, for example, the log in question ended prematurely.

The purpose of these reports is twofold: first, to provide an easy reference for players to keep up with what's going on (or to get caught up if they're new); second, to allow the mod team to monitor the results of player plots and show the impact of those plots on the game world moving forward.

To submit a report, please use the form below and respond to the appropriate comment. In the subject line please put the date (or date range) of the plot as well as some sort of informative title ("Catching C").

amygdalae: two steps back (one step forward)

Kingsway 1 - 8: Discovery of Red Lyrium Experimentation

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-09-11 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: The Ashes Underneath His Nails
PARTICIPANTS: Jim Kirk, Hermione Granger, Adelaide Leblanc, Herian Amsel, Anders, Inessa Serra, Raylan Gibbs, Ciri
LOG: Log Post with plotting post linked in there too. Sign up post is here.
PREMISE: What seems to be a simple string of mysterious disappearances at the outskirts of Emprise du Lion instead leads into a discovery of Red Templars apparently having kidnapped and experimented on people, possibly turning them into abominations through the use of red lyrium for reasons unknown (for now).

OUTCOME:
  • The agents solved the mystery of the disapperances: the people had been kidnapped by Red Templars for the purposes of their experimentations
  • Investigating the place where the experimentations took place revealed that the subject of said experiments heavily involved the usage of lyrium. Circle books were also found in the place, through it is unknown explicitly from which Circle they may have come from.
  • Along with the circle books there were also records of said experiments, as well as a list of the kidnapped victims.
  • Evidence found in the place suggests that the people who died there had the red lyrium within them removed after death.
  • In the deepest parts of the place a child abomination was found; attempts to help were given but the child was too far gone to listen to reason and the agents were forced to take him down.
  • Regardless of knowing the truth of the disappearances or not, the people of Fromage are thankful for the Inquisition's help in putting a stop to the disappearances.
  • No PCs were seriously injured, but they're all going to be heavily traumatized for a while now, sorrynotsorry.

    mid-Kingsway ( the prince & the handmaid )

    [personal profile] ichaer 2016-09-19 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT: WTF is Happening in the Anderfels
PARTICIPANTS: Alistair, Ciri, Inessa, Merrill & Rachette
    LOG: LOG & PLOTTING
PREMISE: After the situation with the Wardens of Weisshaupt went from bad to worse there has been little coming out of the Anderfels. Then what little information stopped altogether so it's time to find out just what is going on.

    OUTCOME:
  • Upon arrival the group set up camp outside of Hossberg and took note + learned of the following:
    — Corypheus' dragon circles the city pretty periodically but it does not seem to follow any set times. No sign of Corypheus despite the dragon.
    — Wardens patrol the city in place of a proper city guard or rather in place of the former city guard.
    — There are no obvious signs of mind control and no demons to be seen but there are no signs of any Warden mages.
    — Tevinter has loaned some of its military out and they are visibly present inside of the city to "help" maintain order.
    — First Warden Vidar now occupies the royal palace. His face is very punchable.
    — There was riots at the dragon's first appearance but with the Wardens and Tevinter soldiers present the city, though tense, is calm for the time being.
  • They were able to scout the city, locate Hilde and make contact with her twice resulting in her handing over the ciphered papers. The group then decided to get Hilde out of Hossberg and out of the Anderfels by coming up with a plan that basically amounted to causing a huge scene.
  • Antivan operas are put to shame as Team Ruckus causes a ruckus. Stands are knocked over, people are punched and they basically get a big crowd going in the already crowded market space. This gives Hilde the chance to run from her handler while following the directions that the group laid out for her while continuing to cause distractions and cut off any followers.
  • Unknown to them, and even Hilde herself, the handmaid had been tagged by a magical enchantment that activated if enough distance was put between her and Junia causing an explosion to be set off. It isn't pretty.
  • They hide out in the city until shit can calm down after a woman literally explodes in the streets (while Ciri and Inessa wonder where everyone is back at camp) and it is here that they learn about the Prince from a rather drunk former servant. The servant also let's it slip about an old escape passage built into the fortress.
  • After one failure, they decide to go and try to steal the Prince back from the Venatori infested fortress using the old hidden passages they had learned about. This goes surprisingly well considering how things went with Hilde.
  • They also steal miscellaneous documents, letters, maps and whatever might look useful but without any real clue if it'll help or not.
  • On their way back to camp with one small child in hand they come across a group of Venatori, giants, Wardens and darkspawn with latter two groups standing around with glowing red eyes. Not a good sign.
  • The team gets the hell out the Anderfels as fast as they can with the Prince before anyone notices that he is missing.

  • Among those items recovered are schematics for cleansing runes. Copies were made, as the original were discovered to be on the back of Prince Baldewin's drawings. (The recipients aren't giving those up.)

sometime in later Kingsway (Red Lyrium and Slave Shipments)

    [personal profile] gatheringstorm 2016-09-23 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: Stop Red Lyrium Shipment in Rialto Bay
    PARTICIPANTS: Korrin Pel, Anders, Zevran
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: The four (and three assorted agents) were sent by the Inquisition to intercept the shipment of red lyrium from the Tom's Mum, moored off the coast of Antiva. Their plan was to have Korrin and Anders pose as the contacts the ship was waiting for, while Pel and Zevran assess from below. The presence of slaves changed their plans somewhat, so that the team could help them gain their freedom.

    OUTCOME:

  • Zevran and Pel boarded with the slaves while Korrin and Anders pretended to be the anticipated contacts waiting onshore. The remaining three agents were a part of the latter group as part of their entourage, and they stalled for time by playing the part of wary buyers.
  • When at least a dozen of the mercenaries arrived on shore, Korrin and Anders began the assault. With surprise and magical firepower on their side, the five defeated the smugglers. Afterward, they stole one of the smuggler's boats to join Zevran and Pel aboard the ship.
  • The red lyrium shipment was intercepted and the mercenaries defeated. Exposure to red lyrium was minimal due to precautions taken and the substance was gleefully destroyed.
  • The main party (and the three minor agents sent with them) did not sustain mortal injuries, thanks to healing magic and sheer luck, though one agent was significantly injured and had to sit out the last stretch.
  • The slaves were freed and offered sanctuary with the Inquisition. They accepted and were brought back to Skyhold.
  • Assorted documents and anything else aboard the ship that seemed important would have been taken as well, for the advisors' or arcanist's use.

Kingsway 10 (mumbles about timeywimey) Missing Shardbearers

    [personal profile] eviscerates 2016-09-24 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: The Stars Go Waltzing / Missing Shardbearers
    PARTICIPANTS:
Team One: Araceli, Avery, Cosima, Daenerys, Jamie, Lexa, Martel & Ruby
Team Two: Adelaide, Bellamy, Bruce, Ciri, Korrin, Merrill, Sabine & Teren
    LOG: LOG & PLOTTING
PREMISE: A group of shardbearers are captured by the Venatori while in Orlais for a rift closing mission, and experimented on with lyrium to study the effects on the shard. Thankfully they are rescued.
OUTCOME: All the Inquisition members were saved, but they had a pretty rough time of it. Ultimately they were victorious, stopped a Venatori outpost that locals were not aware was in the area, and closed two rifts.
  • PCs infiltrated the Venatori stronghold using stealth and firepower
  • A lot of NPCs were killed (antagonists) but most notably amongst their number was one Zoroastres Maris, the head researcher of the facility.
  • A trio of NPCs best summed up as Venatori Team Rocket escaped, and may well be heard from later
  • Four NPC slave gladiators were recruited to join the Inquisition by Daenerys
  • Ruby Lucas, a rifter, lost control of the Wolf for the first time due to lyrium and torture, in the aftermath of that four Inquisition members were injured by her: Ciri, Korrin, Araceli & Avery
  • Research notes were discovered and collected
  • Not a lot was done in public, but while travelling the Inquisition members did visit Cumberland and stop in the nearby village of Craintellier; they conducted themselves respectfully and saved Craintellier from a terrible duo of rifts

First week of Kingsway - Shut UP Beatrice

    [personal profile] tactical_alert 2016-09-29 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: War Table: Soothe Ruffled Feathers
    PARTICIPANTS: Malcolm, Logan
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Noisy Revered Mother won't shut up about how Bad And Wrong the Inquisition is to everyone around her, please use diplomacy at her cranky ass before we lose (more) Orlesian support.
    OUTCOME:
  • Malcolm and Logan rolled up to the Chantry, that had citizens and a few Templars in it, calmly and politely addressing the Revered Mother, during which Logan publicly admitted his Rifter status
  • Beatrice remained mostly unimpressed, but the idea of closing rifts in the area definitely got her attention
  • It was suggested that some shardbearers and a healer would come to Val Fontaine in order to demonstrate to her the closing of a rift and to get an opinion on her horrid cough
  • She's still pretty linefaced but grudgingly understanding about getting Templar and mage help; can admit that shardbearers have their use and that at least the rifter before her didn't seem like a crazed demon; Leliana did at no point come up in conversation save for perhaps one cold line in which she was offhandedly mentioned; still would like attention to the whole electing a Divine thing and would rather the Inquisition be a Chantry arm, period
  • Still, the boys were polite, confident, and had good points to come across. With the local rifts closed, her health seen to, and plenty of words of understanding (but by no means promising change), Revered Mother Beatrice seems to have agreed to stop being as loud and obnoxious about her opinions
  • She will still have those opinions, of course; she just won't be shouting them figuratively from the rooftops. The boys have every confidence that if need be, she can be more properly swayed later

    end of kingsway

    [personal profile] elegiaque 2016-10-09 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: Some Assholes Go For A Walk
PARTICIPANTS: Gwenaëlle Vauquelin, Herian Amsel, Thranduil Oropherion, Bellamy Blake, Lex Luthor, Alistair.
LOG: Link. Most plotting and coordination took place on plurk.
PREMISE: A party including his daughter was sent to collect information and records that Emeric Vauquelin offered to provide the Inquisition to aid their work in Orlais. During the journey to his estate, they were attacked by a clan of Dalish emboldened by the chaos of the civil war.
    OUTCOME:
  • The attack party from the Dalish clan was killed in self-defense by the Inquisition fighters, after Herian Amsel declared them as members of the Inquisition and provided an opportunity to stand down, which was ignored. The Inquisition team believe they were all killed, but survivors did escape.
  • Guenievre Baudin was killed by an archer during the clash; Gwenaëlle identified her as her mother, as witnessed by members of the party not unconscious at the time. Thranduil suffered "friendly fire" ill effects. And was unconscious at the time.
  • Emeric Vauquelin provided information to the Inquisition regarding trade agreements and political alliances in Orlais, specifically exposing ties that involved parties may be attempting to keep on the downlow, allowing the Inquisition to potentially take advantage of maneuvering opportunities that they otherwise might not have recognised. Some of these are copies of binding legal agreements between parties (maybe best not to ask how he got his hands on them); other papers might be Emeric's best recollection of things he's witnessed, been told or overheard, written down by his steward, Guilfoyle. Who was probably involved in the acquisition of the less second-hand sources, as Guilfoyle is fucking terrifying.
  • Jerks have feelings too.
