Plot Reports

PLOT REPORTS

If you run a player plot, participate in a war table mission, or do something unplanned/unofficial that you feel may have wider implications for the game world, please use this page to submit an OOC report! Your report doesn't need to be lengthy or overly detailed but should include the basic premise ("A and B hunt down C"), state the outcome ("C is caught and placed in Inquisition custody"), and explain anything significant that is handwaved rather than played out if, for example, the log in question ended prematurely.

The purpose of these reports is twofold: first, to provide an easy reference for players to keep up with what's going on (or to get caught up if they're new); second, to allow the mod team to monitor the results of player plots and show the impact of those plots on the game world moving forward.

To submit a report, please use the form below and respond to the appropriate comment. In the subject line please put the date (or date range) of the plot as well as some sort of informative title ("Catching C").

1-5 Bloomingtide ( Antivan Slave Rescue )

[personal profile] fightingale 2016-07-16 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT: CHEF OF JUSTICE
PARTICIPANTS: masterminded by Josie & Leliana; Araceli, Ariadne, Beleth, The Iron Bull, Isabela, Legolas, Solas, Teren, Zevran
LOG: Link
PREMISE: Take down a Merchant Prince working with the Venatori, bring in an Orlesian noble who had been causing problems for the Inquisition, free a whole lot of slaves headed to the Venatori for Purposes Unknown, and recruit some Antivan chefs.
OUTCOME:
  • All activities were stealth or took place in private residences; PCs were based in a safehouse concealed in a brothel in Antiva, arriving under the guise of being a pirate crew. The Inquisition's presence in Antiva was unknown, however there is potential of some rumours of the Inquisition freeing slaves beginning to circulating.
  • no PC seriously injured or arrested
  • the Merchant Prince, VALENTIN OLEASTRO was not killed, and was instead brought to Skyhold for judgment and to be interrogated for any information regarding the Venatori and his connection to Lord Enzo.
  • the Orlesian noble, ALEXANDRE FORTIER was defeated and brought back to Skyhold to "cooperate" with Josephine.
  • Estate searched for documents and evidence
  • Tal-Vashoth chefs, BURLY (silent, slashed throat, broken horn, giant) KALLA (red hair, fabulous babe, the ringleader) & RAAS (white hair kept braided, short for a qunari, no horns) RECRUITED for the good of the Inquisition's kitchens.
  • Slaves freed! Leliana's people helped return some fo them home, others returned to Skyhold with the group as refugees as they had no homes to return to due to Mage-Templar war.

    mid-Justinian { Exploring elven ruins/On the path to the Sulevin Blade }

    [personal profile] serannas 2016-07-02 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: Exploring elven ruins
PARTICIPANTS: Ellana Ashara, Sam Gareth, Korrin Ataash, Mal Reynolds, Katniss Everdeen
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Ellana took a group to gather herbs in Emprise du Lion, knowing there were ruins nearby. The group explored them and did a couple puzzles to find a secret locked away in a box.
OUTCOME: The box contained clues as to the final resting place of the Sulevin Blade.
  • The characters completed simple puzzles to unlock a door.
  • The characters were then attacked by corpses guarding the room. Once they were killed, they tried opening a box, but a revenant appeared and attacked them. After killing the revenant, they finally opened the box and obtained the clues.
  • Ellana will bring this information to the advisors in the hopes of following it up and finding the blade. Also, the Inquisition gets the herbs the group gathered.

    Bloomingtide & Justinian

    [personal profile] justice_is_blond 2016-07-06 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT: Let No Soul Hunger For Justice
PARTICIPANTS: ...Adelaide, Alistair, Anders, Belleth, Bethany, Cole, Hermione, Ingrid, Isabela, Jamie, Kaisa, Kain, Kallian, Kirk, Leliana, Maria, Merrill, Nathaniel, Samouel, Shale, Sina, Terra, Twisted Fate, Varric, Vasran, Velanna
    LOG: Masterpost
PREMISE: To kick Anders' +1 back into the Fade to live with his parents instead of mooching on Anders any longer.
OUTCOME: Anders is no longer possessed. While the process killed Justice and several participants in the last one were seriously injured (Leliana, Merrill, Nathaniel, Adelaide, Bethany, Kain,) this means the Inquisition has successfully found a way to remove a spirit. It's unknown if this process can be applied to a demon as well, and more preparation would be needed before such a thing can be attempted, but it's progress when it comes to current solutions for possession.

PLOT: Cadash Thaig and the Lights of Arlathan
PARTICIPANTS: Pel, Sina, Morrigan, Velanna, Shale, and Katniss.
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Looking for clues about the Lights of Arlathan in Cadash Thaig
OUTCOME: Relatively peaceful, no wounded or injured, two Lights of Arlathan retrieved, as well as some letters revealing that there were elven refugees from Arlathan sheltered in the thaig during the days of Tevinter's glory, and Kal'hirol, ally of Tevinter, invaded and destroyed the thaig.

late Justinian ( Assassination attempt & aftermath)

    [personal profile] fightingale 2016-07-16 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT: The Thorns of the Rose
    PARTICIPANTS:
Skyhold; Anders & Adelaide (healing), Dorian (solving posion mystery), Josephine (discovering Leliana)
Team Brecilian Forest; Alistair, Dorian, Zevran, Bethany, Bruce, Christine, Eirlys, Sina
Team Orlais; Andra, Athos, Maria, Obi-Wan, Samouel, Sherlock

LOG: SKYHOLD | ORLAIS | BRECILIAN FOREST
PREMISE: OOC POST; Due to Leliana's Opinions about mage and elf freedom and Other Stuff, an assassination attempt is made on her life, using a very obscure Tevinter poison. In the aftermath one team goes to the Brecilian Forest to get rare ingredients for a cure, and another team goes to Orlais to track down the organisation that ordered the assassination attempt and bring them to justice.

    OUTCOME:
  • Dorian was responsible for identifying the poison and looking into a cure, Anders & Adelaide were primary physicians
  • No PC characters were seriously wounded or killed
  • TEAM ORLAIS; infiltrated a ridiculous poetry night hosted by the mysterious Lady Soleil, and after stealing information and using Charm and Diplomacy, they were able to find the identity of the poet responsible for the Terrible Poetry and establish the identity of a member of the Thorns of the Rose, and deduce their location. Team Orlais then headed to a Small Dusty Town and eliminated the leader of the Thorns of the Rose and some Unfortunate NPCs. However the two assassins who enacted the assassination attempt were captured and brought back for judgment.
  • TEAM BRECILIAN; with the help of the Elder Tree (AW YEAH) located all the ingredients, some of which had to be found in the ruins. Everyone was dashing as hell. No deaths.
  • Team Brecilian had no public shenanigans, and Team Orlais operated under cover and with stealth. As the Thorns of the Rose were a largely secret organisation, the attack on their HQ may well have gone without causing ripples, but rumours of the attempt on Leliana's life and the taking down of the extremists responsible could have circulated.
  • Everyone is babes, Leliana is recovering, albeit slowly
  • the Elder Tree loves everyone and should be an Inquisition agent tbh

    Solace 1-7: Burying Lusacan Deeper

    [personal profile] byblow 2016-07-31 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: PROJECT LUSACAN
PARTICIPANTS: Adelaide, Alistair, Anders, Hercules, Kaisa, Lena, Sabine, Teren, Velanna
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: In light of the possibility that Corypheus may have had real plans for the Old Gods rather than just using them to convince the Wardens to do blood magic, a team went down to make sure that Wardens who may be under Corypheus' control can't find or reach the Old God imprisoned in the Western Approach without a lot of trouble.
OUTCOME: The path to reach Lusacan's prison was obscured or blocked by magical seals in a way that will make it very difficult for Wardens other than those at Skyhold to find their way there. And Hercules Hansen died. :c

Solace 15-20: The Annulment at Dairsmuid

    [personal profile] foxsays 2016-08-14 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: The Annulment at Dairsmuid
PARTICIPANTS: Araceli Bonaventura, Korrin Ataash, Malcolm Reynolds, The Outsider, Aleron Darton, Kas, Anders, Malcolm Reed, James Norrington, Ellana Ashara, James Kirk
LOG: Link; contains link to OOC posts and sending crystal announcement
PREMISE: Araceli heard of the previous Annulment at Dairsmuid and survivors in need of aid living at a camp and asked the Inquisition to come help get them to the docks. Unfortunately the Templars raided the camp, took the survivors back to Dairsmuid, and the party had to race to the Circle to kill the Templars and free the mages.
    OUTCOME:
  • Araceli was able to gain the trust of the mage contacts by speaking well of the Inquisition and Mage Council during her initial study trip to be given First Enchanter Rivella's journal so she could signal the group
  • The meeting with the mage contacts at the camp went well and they were all able to get enough details for the rescue attempt
  • Minor injuries to the party, mainly those involved in Team Templar Crushers
  • Rogue Templars were killed, their bodies burned since they were Chantry folk and there were Chantry people on the mission. The Rivaini mages had been locked in the dungeons and forced to drink a great deal of magebane; some were weaker than others and required healing but all survived
  • The Rivaini mages returned to seek refuge with the Inquisition - they plan to return to Rivain one day when the future is more stable, their loved ones are indebted thanks to the swift action and kindness they have been shown
  • Several artifacts and many books that could be salvaged from the wreckage of Dairsmuid were brought with the mages to Skyhold
  • Prior to leaving Rivain, a group lead by Ellana including Kirk, Korrin, Araceli and Anders made contact with the Rivaini Dalish; a personal visit but contact has been made and they discussed why they were in Rivain in the first place
  • The Rivaini mages are a small group of five women and three men as follows:

    Aintza :: Spirit/Entropy :: Seer [group leader]
    Josué :: Creation/Force :: Spirit healer [second-in-command]
    Ciro :: Primal/Force :: Battlemage
    Danilo :: Arcane/Primal :: No spec
    Maristella :: Spirit/Creation :: No spec
    Gabriela :: Entropy/Arcane :: No spec
    Raffaella :: Spirit/Primal :: Seer's apprentice
    Naia :: Arcane/Force :: Battlemage

    August 28-30: { Taking out Red Templars near a Civil War front }

    [personal profile] aceso 2016-09-17 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: My Father's Eyes
PARTICIPANTS: Christine Delacroix, Korrin Ataash, Sam Gareth, James Norrington (+ NPC Templars), Bruce Banner, Ingrid Kief, Aleron Darton, Church
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: The group is off to stop Red Templars and visit the Empress's soldiers to find Christine's father.
    OUTCOME:
  • The general at the front pointed out where the Red Templars were holed up, and the party confronted them in their camp. There were fourteen of them, and none were left alive.
  • Nearly everyone in the party sustained injuries, especially because the Red Templar Horrors shot out red lyrium and electricity at them. There were also lacerations, sprains, and a concussion. Thankfully with two Spirit Healers, an additional mage healer, and plenty of healing mist/healing potions, everyone survived.
  • The Inquisition told the general of the Empress's army that they would kill the Red Templars that were harrassing the soldiers, and this was accomplished.
  • After killing the Red Templars, their bodies were burned and their camp picked over. Correspondence concerning red lyrium shipments were taken to hand over to the advisors (the significance of which I am leaving entirely in the mods' hands) and samples of red lyrium were taken back to Skyhold in easy to carry boxes, with intricate locks and wards placed on them to prevent the lyrium from affecting the party.

Kingsway 1 - 8: Discovery of Red Lyrium Experimentation

    [personal profile] amygdalae 2016-09-11 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: The Ashes Underneath His Nails
PARTICIPANTS: Jim Kirk, Hermione Granger, Adelaide Leblanc, Herian Amsel, Anders, Inessa Serra, Raylan Gibbs, Ciri
LOG: Log Post with plotting post linked in there too. Sign up post is here.
PREMISE: What seems to be a simple string of mysterious disappearances at the outskirts of Emprise du Lion instead leads into a discovery of Red Templars apparently having kidnapped and experimented on people, possibly turning them into abominations through the use of red lyrium for reasons unknown (for now).

    OUTCOME:
  • The agents solved the mystery of the disapperances: the people had been kidnapped by Red Templars for the purposes of their experimentations
  • Investigating the place where the experimentations took place revealed that the subject of said experiments heavily involved the usage of lyrium. Circle books were also found in the place, through it is unknown explicitly from which Circle they may have come from.
  • Along with the circle books there were also records of said experiments, as well as a list of the kidnapped victims.
  • Evidence found in the place suggests that the people who died there had the red lyrium within them removed after death.
  • In the deepest parts of the place a child abomination was found; attempts to help were given but the child was too far gone to listen to reason and the agents were forced to take him down.
  • Regardless of knowing the truth of the disappearances or not, the people of Fromage are thankful for the Inquisition's help in putting a stop to the disappearances.
  • No PCs were seriously injured, but they're all going to be heavily traumatized for a while now, sorrynotsorry.

    mid-Kingsway ( the prince & the handmaid )

    [personal profile] ichaer 2016-09-19 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
PLOT: WTF is Happening in the Anderfels
PARTICIPANTS: Alistair, Ciri, Inessa, Merrill & Rachette
    LOG: LOG & PLOTTING
PREMISE: After the situation with the Wardens of Weisshaupt went from bad to worse there has been little coming out of the Anderfels. Then what little information stopped altogether so it's time to find out just what is going on.

    OUTCOME:
  • Upon arrival the group set up camp outside of Hossberg and took note + learned of the following:
    — Corypheus' dragon circles the city pretty periodically but it does not seem to follow any set times. No sign of Corypheus despite the dragon.
    — Wardens patrol the city in place of a proper city guard or rather in place of the former city guard.
    — There are no obvious signs of mind control and no demons to be seen but there are no signs of any Warden mages.
    — Tevinter has loaned some of its military out and they are visibly present inside of the city to "help" maintain order.
    — First Warden Vidar now occupies the royal palace. His face is very punchable.
    — There was riots at the dragon's first appearance but with the Wardens and Tevinter soldiers present the city, though tense, is calm for the time being.
  • They were able to scout the city, locate Hilde and make contact with her twice resulting in her handing over the ciphered papers. The group then decided to get Hilde out of Hossberg and out of the Anderfels by coming up with a plan that basically amounted to causing a huge scene.
  • Antivan operas are put to shame as Team Ruckus causes a ruckus. Stands are knocked over, people are punched and they basically get a big crowd going in the already crowded market space. This gives Hilde the chance to run from her handler while following the directions that the group laid out for her while continuing to cause distractions and cut off any followers.
  • Unknown to them, and even Hilde herself, the handmaid had been tagged by a magical enchantment that activated if enough distance was put between her and Junia causing an explosion to be set off. It isn't pretty.
  • They hide out in the city until shit can calm down after a woman literally explodes in the streets (while Ciri and Inessa wonder where everyone is back at camp) and it is here that they learn about the Prince from a rather drunk former servant. The servant also let's it slip about an old escape passage built into the fortress.
  • After one failure, they decide to go and try to steal the Prince back from the Venatori infested fortress using the old hidden passages they had learned about. This goes surprisingly well considering how things went with Hilde.
  • They also steal miscellaneous documents, letters, maps and whatever might look useful but without any real clue if it'll help or not.
  • On their way back to camp with one small child in hand they come across a group of Venatori, giants, Wardens and darkspawn with latter two groups standing around with glowing red eyes. Not a good sign.
  • The team gets the hell out the Anderfels as fast as they can with the Prince before anyone notices that he is missing.

sometime in later Kingsway (Red Lyrium and Slave Shipments)

    [personal profile] gatheringstorm 2016-09-23 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: Stop Red Lyrium Shipment in Rialto Bay
    PARTICIPANTS: Korrin Pel, Anders, Zevran
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: The four (and three assorted agents) were sent by the Inquisition to intercept the shipment of red lyrium from the Tom's Mum, moored off the coast of Antiva. Their plan was to have Korrin and Anders pose as the contacts the ship was waiting for, while Pel and Zevran assess from below. The presence of slaves changed their plans somewhat, so that the team could help them gain their freedom.

    OUTCOME:

  • Zevran and Pel boarded with the slaves while Korrin and Anders pretended to be the anticipated contacts waiting onshore. The remaining three agents were a part of the latter group as part of their entourage, and they stalled for time by playing the part of wary buyers.
  • When at least a dozen of the mercenaries arrived on shore, Korrin and Anders began the assault. With surprise and magical firepower on their side, the five defeated the smugglers. Afterward, they stole one of the smuggler's boats to join Zevran and Pel aboard the ship.
  • The red lyrium shipment was intercepted and the mercenaries defeated. Exposure to red lyrium was minimal due to precautions taken and the substance was gleefully destroyed.
  • The main party (and the three minor agents sent with them) did not sustain mortal injuries, thanks to healing magic and sheer luck, though one agent was significantly injured and had to sit out the last stretch.
  • The slaves were freed and offered sanctuary with the Inquisition. They accepted and were brought back to Skyhold.
  • Assorted documents and anything else aboard the ship that seemed important would have been taken as well, for the advisors' or arcanist's use.

Kingsway 10 (mumbles about timeywimey) Missing Shardbearers

    [personal profile] eviscerates 2016-09-24 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: The Stars Go Waltzing / Missing Shardbearers
    PARTICIPANTS:
Team One: Araceli, Avery, Cosima, Daenerys, Jamie, Lexa, Martel & Ruby
Team Two: Adelaide, Bellamy, Bruce, Ciri, Korrin, Merrill, Sabine & Teren
    LOG: LOG & PLOTTING
PREMISE: A group of shardbearers are captured by the Venatori while in Orlais for a rift closing mission, and experimented on with lyrium to study the effects on the shard. Thankfully they are rescued.
OUTCOME: All the Inquisition members were saved, but they had a pretty rough time of it. Ultimately they were victorious, stopped a Venatori outpost that locals were not aware was in the area, and closed two rifts.
  • PCs infiltrated the Venatori stronghold using stealth and firepower
  • A lot of NPCs were killed (antagonists) but most notably amongst their number was one Zoroastres Maris, the head researcher of the facility.
  • A trio of NPCs best summed up as Venatori Team Rocket escaped, and may well be heard from later
  • Four NPC slave gladiators were recruited to join the Inquisition by Daenerys
  • Ruby Lucas, a rifter, lost control of the Wolf for the first time due to lyrium and torture, in the aftermath of that four Inquisition members were injured by her: Ciri, Korrin, Araceli & Avery
  • Research notes were discovered and collected
  • Not a lot was done in public, but while travelling the Inquisition members did visit Cumberland and stop in the nearby village of Craintellier; they conducted themselves respectfully and saved Craintellier from a terrible duo of rifts

First week of Kingsway - Shut UP Beatrice

    [personal profile] tactical_alert 2016-09-29 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: War Table: Soothe Ruffled Feathers
    PARTICIPANTS: Malcolm, Logan
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Noisy Revered Mother won't shut up about how Bad And Wrong the Inquisition is to everyone around her, please use diplomacy at her cranky ass before we lose (more) Orlesian support.
    OUTCOME:
  • Malcolm and Logan rolled up to the Chantry, that had citizens and a few Templars in it, calmly and politely addressing the Revered Mother, during which Logan publicly admitted his Rifter status
  • Beatrice remained mostly unimpressed, but the idea of closing rifts in the area definitely got her attention
  • It was suggested that some shardbearers and a healer would come to Val Fontaine in order to demonstrate to her the closing of a rift and to get an opinion on her horrid cough
  • She's still pretty linefaced but grudgingly understanding about getting Templar and mage help; can admit that shardbearers have their use and that at least the rifter before her didn't seem like a crazed demon; Leliana did at no point come up in conversation save for perhaps one cold line in which she was offhandedly mentioned; still would like attention to the whole electing a Divine thing and would rather the Inquisition be a Chantry arm, period
  • Still, the boys were polite, confident, and had good points to come across. With the local rifts closed, her health seen to, and plenty of words of understanding (but by no means promising change), Revered Mother Beatrice seems to have agreed to stop being as loud and obnoxious about her opinions
  • She will still have those opinions, of course; she just won't be shouting them figuratively from the rooftops. The boys have every confidence that if need be, she can be more properly swayed later

    [personal profile] elegiaque 2016-10-09 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
PLOT: Some Assholes Go For A Walk
PARTICIPANTS: Gwenaëlle Vauquelin, Herian Amsel, Thranduil Oropherion, Bellamy Blake, Lex Luthor, Alistair.
LOG: Link. Most plotting and coordination took place on plurk.
PREMISE: A party including his daughter was sent to collect information and records that Emeric Vauquelin offered to provide the Inquisition to aid their work in Orlais. During the journey to his estate, they were attacked by a clan of Dalish emboldened by the chaos of the civil war.
    OUTCOME:
  • The attack party from the Dalish clan was killed in self-defense by the Inquisition fighters, after Herian Amsel declared them as members of the Inquisition and provided an opportunity to stand down, which was ignored. The Inquisition team believe they were all killed, but survivors did escape.
  • Guenievre Baudin was killed by an archer during the clash; Gwenaëlle identified her as her mother, as witnessed by members of the party not unconscious at the time. Thranduil suffered "friendly fire" ill effects. And was unconscious at the time.
  • Emeric Vauquelin provided information to the Inquisition regarding trade agreements and political alliances in Orlais, specifically exposing ties that involved parties may be attempting to keep on the downlow, allowing the Inquisition to potentially take advantage of maneuvering opportunities that they otherwise might not have recognised. Some of these are copies of binding legal agreements between parties (maybe best not to ask how he got his hands on them); other papers might be Emeric's best recollection of things he's witnessed, been told or overheard, written down by his steward, Guilfoyle. Who was probably involved in the acquisition of the less second-hand sources, as Guilfoyle is fucking terrifying.
  • Jerks have feelings too.

PREMISE: A trip to an elven ruin in search of the Sulevin Blade.
    OUTCOME:
  • There were simple puzzles to solve to move forward through the rooms.

  • In the end, they retrieved the next clue which Ellana and Leliana's scout will work on to find out where this weapon is hidden!

    [personal profile] dashing 2016-10-25 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: Dalish Diplomacy Disaster
    PARTICIPANTS: Herian, Pel, Sina
LOG: HERE (follow up to Gwen’s plot, main log followed by a network post from Pel.)
PREMISE: Herian, Pel and Sina go to meet with Clan Grymusseth regarding attacks on an Inquisition group that declared themselves peacefully, as well as other attacks by this same Clan.
OUTCOME: ( cw: reference to deliberately inflicted injuries outside the heat of battle )
    It goes really very badly.

  • Sina lead the party and was treated as the leader of the group by both Herian & Pel; negotiations began well enough but disintegrated as the Clan’s Keeper and lead Hunter pushed a hard policy of justice and retribution.
  • The presence of hunters (archers, dual knives) in the trees suggests the diplomatic mission may have been doomed from the start
  • Our intrepid heroes are attacked and ultimately captured
  • All characters sustained minor to moderate injuries in the forms of burns, traps going off, blunt fore attacks and some sword/knife/arrow attacks.
  • Herian suffered some mutilation to her left ear.
  • An undetermined number of NPCs were injured and possibly killed through the combination of escape fighting, part of the camp catching fire, and demons. The lead Hunter and Keeper’s First were both definitely killed.
  • No actions were taken in public, in the sense of it being a densely populated area with lots of humans. The only witnesses were the Dalish Clan itself, and not even all of them saw what happened although they would have been aware of demons and fire, obviously.
  • A rift opened while our heroes were escaping! It wasn’t Sina’s fault, but what whacky timing.

    PLOT: The Big One?
    PARTICIPANTS: Korrin, Araceli, etc.
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Korrin's contacts in Honey Badger Hold have sighted a herd of elusive nuggalopes. It's time to lure them in and acquire new mounts for the Inquisition.
    OUTCOME:
  • The group divided into teams to plant lures and win over the nuggalopes.
  • Their success impressed Honey Badger Hold, who didn't expect the nuggalopes to behave for anyone but the Avvar.
  • No nuggalopes were hurt in this operation. People, on the other hand, endured a little bruising but no real injuries unless they were marvelously stupid.

"Our people have flushed out... something. Something big and stubborn. You were seeking a mount that spoke to the tenacity of the Inquisition, and this... frankly I'm not sure what this says, but it is definitely a mount, and it is definitely tenacious. I'm not sure what to say, except that the stables now have new residents, and to echo the report from our people: "That is one big nug."

    PLOT: Mirrors & Monsters
PARTICIPANTS: Merrill, Morrigan, Thranduil, Ellana, Inessa, Zevran, Bruce, Maxwell, Bethany, Beleth, Leliana, Amelie
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Fetching Merrill's eluvian from Kirkwall.
OUTCOME: Please briefly summarize the outcome of the plot. Essentially, we need to know about the parts that might influence the Inquisition's reputation, resources, and connections, such as:
  • Two teams were sent to Kirkwall; one via Morrigan's eluvian and one via ship.
  • The Venatori had already moved the eluvian; Team A exited out it to find themselves deep in an abandoned part of Kirkwall from when it was a part of Tevinter.
  • Team B arrived at the Hawke manor and discovered two dead Venatori henchmen and were directed to investigate the Gallows, which led to a secret passage.
  • Both teams had to deal with horrors in the passage, ranging from the natural to traps to abominations.
  • Multiple Venatori were killed by the Inquisition, as well as several rats, walking corpses, etc. in the passage. Everyone sustained some injuries but there were no PC deaths.
  • Kirkwall still sucks.

    PLOT: Sins of the Father
PARTICIPANTS: Raylan Gibbs, Adelaide Leblanc, Pamelia Islain, Lex Luthor, Yngvi Congealedinagutterson, Kif Kroker, Kaisa Daesun, Leliana, Christine Delacroix, Bruce Banner
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Stopping a slave ring in Crestwood.
    OUTCOME:
  • The PCs handled the situation reasonably well. By the scoring system discussed with the mods, we got 27 points out of 40. This included being relatively helpful and generous with their time to those in the town who needed it.
  • Minor to moderate injuries were sustained by the Inquisition. A few Inquisition members were kidnapped briefly, but freed within hours.
  • A few criminals died in struggles; most were arrested and brought back to Skyhold; the slaves were freed.
  • A rift opened underneath the lake in Crestwood.
  • Boyd Cropper learned of the Inquisition and arrived back at Skyhold with the team.

PLOT: War Table: Investigate Comtesse de Veloney
PARTICIPANTS: Anders, Herian Amsel, Inessa Serra, Malcolm Reed, Pamelia, Velanna
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Inquisition scouts go missing near a Comtesse's estate, and our motley crew of heroes go to investigate and hopefully find answers
OUTCOME: Please briefly summarize the outcome of the plot. Essentially, we need to know about the parts that might influence the Inquisition's reputation, resources, and connections, such as:
  • The group asked the various staff members questions about the household, the last time they saw Inquisition scouts, and turned up with a lot of weirdness and things that just didn't add up!
  • No NPCs were harmed in the bust.
  • At night IT ALL WENT DOWN and by the time they were done the group learned a couple of things: one, that the meat was people, and had been people for some time, two, that the Comtesse knew nothing about it, and three, the valet, the butcher, the tanner and the perfumier are terrible terrible people.
  • The guilty have been brought back to Skyhold and the Inquisition scouts were found alive and relatively unharmed!

Harvestmere 20-ish / Samson fight and capture

    [personal profile] redinside 2017-01-12 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: Operation: Sweetest Downfall
PARTICIPANTS: Bruce, Christine Delacroix, Ciri, Inessa Serra, The Iron Bull, Issaquntaar, James Norrington, Kain Ventfort, Raleigh Samson
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Inquisition forces ambush a red templar caravan headed south. Samson is with them. Surprise!
    OUTCOME:
  • Christine, Inessa, Issaquntaar and Kain participated in the neutralization of the red templar forces, particularly by taking down a behemoth. Nice. One assumes they did not die nor lose any vital pieces during this event.
  • Bruce, Ciri, Iron Bull, and Norrington dispatched four red templars before facing Samson himself, probably also without dying. The general resisted their attacks at first, but over the course of an exhaustingly long battle they wore him down until finally, in anger and desperation, he took one too many doses of red lyrium and collapsed on the field.
  • He was then dragged back to Skyhold like heavy, stinky luggage.
  • Overall it was an extraordinarily violent battle with significant NPC casualties on both sides.
  • All participants experienced temporary discomfort due to the proximity of red lyrium, with no permanent negative effects (luckily).
  • Norrington got a cool scar. Other people got scars too but his is the coolest.
  • The wagon ultimately forded the river along with with five red templars protecting its heavily hooded passenger, whose identity was not revealed. A group of inquisition agents pursued the wagon several miles south of the river before successfully disabling it. Three of the five red templars escaped into the Wilds with their passenger, while two were slain.
  • The red templars set fire to the wagon upon abandoning it, but a small quantity of red lyrium research records and equipment were salvaged.
  • Samson's custom-forged red lyrium armour and greatsword were also retrieved from the battlefield. Both are presumably kept somewhere dark under lock and key (and lock and key and lock) until someone can figure out how to deal with them without going crazy.
  • Samson's last words before losing consciousness were, "You mustn't hurt him... he's just a boy. Don't..."

PLOT: Recover Magical Gadgets from Vinmark Chasm
PARTICIPANTS: Cassandra Pentaghast, Nathaniel Howe, Morrigan, Korrin Ataash, Thranduil
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Revisiting Corypheus' prison in the Vinmark Mountains, near Kirkwall, and bringing back anything that might help the Inquisition's team understand more about Corypheus' weaknesses and how he might be defeated.
OUTCOME: The prison was found partially collapsed, but in the interest of not wasting time or money on frivolities like "safety measures," and with no one wanting to look like a wuss in front of anyone else, everyone on the team voted to move forward anyway. There was a minor encounter with darkspawn, but no one was seriously hurt. The team managed to collect various artifacts of interest to be brought back to Skyhold for further study, including:
  • A collection of offerings from an altar within the prison
  • Six chalices apparently used for blood magic, likely to bind Corypheus himself (the other two were buried in rubble and not recovered)
  • A few unsettlingly large finger bones and spinal discs
  • A Grey Warden badge
  • A bundle of half-decayed papers
  • A mysterious and creepy orb
The orb was found by Thranduil. Luckily, his first move was to show it to Cassandra, rather than to hide it away and heed its strange call. Though he was reluctant to give it up, mumbling something about his "precious," she managed to get it away from him and tuck it safely away before anyone could place it on the altar and summon Malvernis.

    PLOT: Clear Out Caer Bronach
PARTICIPANTS: Rey, Inessa, Kain, Dorian, Issa, Jamie
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: Inquisition needs access to the crank to drain the lake to close a rift, but first must evict the bandits inhabiting the Keep you have to go through to access it. A small team is sent in to clean house.
    OUTCOME:
  • Straightforward, killed all the bandits, burned the bodies as is expected in Andrastian custom.
  • No PCs seriously injured, no friendly NPCs killed.
  • Inquisition agents all behaved appropriately in the situation.

    Wintermarch 13th { Sulevin Blade Quest }

    [personal profile] serannas 2017-01-28 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
    PLOT: Sulevin Blade Quest
PARTICIPANTS: Ellana Ashara, Galadriel, Merrill, Korrin Ataash, James Kirk, Samouel Gareth
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: To explore an elven ruin to reclaim the Sulevin Blade for the elves and the Inquisition.
    OUTCOME:
  • The group rescued a Dalish woman from three Freeman scouts who were trying to get the location of her clan so they could send a huge party to raid it for supplies.
  • The scouts were killed and their bodies buried with the help of Merrill's Keeper magic. The elf was grateful and showed them the location of the ruin.
  • The group discovered bandits in the ruin, as well as pieces of the Sulevin Blade and a random elven scroll that probably can't have more than a sentence or two translated because so much of the elven written language is lost.
  • There was also a fade rift that the group took care of, as well as the shades and Revenant that came from it.

    PLOT: SKRAEDDERQUEST
PARTICIPANTS: Teren, Alistair, Anders, Bethany, Benevenuta, Kaisa
    LOG: Link
PREMISE: We went to find the Architect! He wasn't there, because it was all a ruse. Instead everything went tits-up because Teren is a liar.
OUTCOME: Please briefly summarize the outcome of the plot. Essentially, we need to know about the parts that might influence the Inquisition's reputation, resources, and connections, such as:
  • Everyone was a pretty good sport most of the time, but that may change when [redacted].
  • At least one PC is injured and others might be. (this part hasn't happened yet)
  • Nothing happened in public, though an Orlesian noble and several Tevinter nobles were super grossed out by their presence.
  • Teren flat-out lied to the other Wardens and possibly the Inquisition advisors, though she tried to keep things more on the DL as far as they were concerned. This will probably have IC ramifications with at least Nathaniel but it remains to be seen when the thing's over!
